A Christmas tale

Another year, another Christmas to moan about.'Tis the season to be jolly, eh? Not likely. The other half has already dropped the ultimate Christmas lie on me.

"We're saving for our next holiday, so let's not get each other anything this year ok?"

I know what that means. I'm not getting present but I'm a dead man if I don't get her something. Never again will I get caught out by that little trick. Never again will I have to dart out of the house at 9.30pm on Christmas eve to the local 24hr garage. Never again will my partner get plastic flowers, a collection of soft back Catherine Cookson's and a bag of charcoal for Christmas.

My kind of club

It seems that there is a growing movement that it seems I'm destined to join. A group so massive in it's potential that it could rival neo-conservatism, fascism and 70's disco. It's a group dedicated to rejecting consumerism and fashion. A group centred around the abandoning of fads and technology. All hail the 'The Society Of People Who Have Never"

Dealing with sadness and loss

According to Bosch Car Service (?), the Welsh are the most emotional when selling an old car. Apparently the Welsh like a good wail when parting with their four-wheeled friend. I personally have never had any such feelings for cars. I don't own one and I think until I desperately need one I probably won't. I've never understood the fascination. Which brings me to one of my most loathed type of person......

What a load of bankers.....

£10 a month for simply having a First Direct bank account? It seems ridiculous that anyone should pay to put money into a bank but according to their latest press release anyone earning under £1500 a month will have to. That's great First Direct, charge the people who can't afford it. Nice PR stunt there. Alienate and wind-up your bread and butter customers. Well done.
