What does Pete Doherty have to do to get a jail sentence? The man is a habitual criminal, if he was some chav from a council estate he'd be eating prison grub by now. Does celebrity and the promise of rehab really sway judges? It must, considering that he's been caught with half the output of Columbia on many occasions, has been done for drunk driving, assault, burglary and other offences.

Unwelcome return

Now I know that the charts aren't supposed to mean anything, but this weekends run-down depressed me. Why? Well I have to be honest most of the crap that inhabits the charts depresses me but this weekend it was made just that little bit worse by the return of Take That. The fact that they achieved their first number one in years just added the cherry on top of the turd.

I thought I'd seen the back of them. How wrong was I?

What's that banging sound?

I'll tell you what it is, it's John Lennon rolling in his grave that's what! It seems that George Martin and son have released a 'new' Beatles record. Wow! That's some achievement considering two of the members are dead, one's going through a messy divorce and the other is Ringo Starr. Alas, this isn't a 'new' album at all. To be fair, I find it difficult to describe it as an album really. You see the album consists of famous and popular Beatles tracks remixed, re-jigged and to use the 'hip' phrase 'mashed up'. So to describe it as a Beatles album, project or product is a bit rich. An abomination possibly, album? Definitely not.
